“JOB SEARCH SECRETS FOR EMPOWERING YOUR FUTURE”

Councilman Mark Mayoka and the Huntington Small Business Resource & Recovery Center present a Job Workshop at Town Hall in Room 104 on
February 28th, 2012 at 7:00 pm.

Keynote Speaker, Karen McKenna will be presenting an interactive workshop to teach proactive measures to assist job seekers. The focus will teach those individuals seeking employment opportunities to compete more effectively in today's challenging job market and provide alternative resources.

Bernard Ryba, Business Advisor, from the Stony Brook Small Business Development Center will introduce strategies to aid start-up entrepreneurs and small businesses owners. He will familiarize attendees with business plan development, employee management, financial planning and marketing and networking development.

Karen McKenna is an enthusiastic and creative Career Management Professional with over 25 years of experience across multiple industries. She has worked for: CAEL, DBM, Estée Lauder, JPMorgan Chase Career Services, Suffolk County Community College, Tuesday's Children and Winthrop-University Hospital. In addition to working with individual clients, Karen also enjoys providing career counseling advice to wider audiences, as a writer. She writes a monthly column for Long Island Business News, which focuses on current job search and career planning issues.

Bernie Ryba, Certified, Senior Business Advisor-CPA; has over 25 years of business experience including public accounting, 15 years with Pfizer, Inc., and exposure to the brokerage and high technology industries. His responsibilities have ranged from financial and operational auditing to financial management, commercial development and strategic planning. A graduate of Stony Brook University, Bernie also has an MBA from Hofstra University, and has twice been nominated for NYS Business Advisor of the Year.
